Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences are cloned from immunoreactive rabbits, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates.

Target Information
Histone H2A.X (H2AX) is a member of the histone H2A family, one of the four core histones forming the nucleosome core particle.
Phosphorylation of serine 139 at the C-terminus of H2AX (γ-H2AX) occurs in response to DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) and can be detected by Western blot or immunofluorescence.
Phosphorylation is mediated by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases, possibly ATM, DNA-PK, or ATR.
H2A.X consists of 143 amino acids and functions as a basal histone synthesized in both G1 and S-phase. Two mRNA forms exist: one polyadenylated (~1600 bases) and one non-polyadenylated (~575 bases).
The gene maps to chromosome 11q23.2–q23.3 in humans and plays a key role in chromatin structure and DNA repair signaling through MDC1 recruitment.
