Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The GGPS1 gene belongs to the prenyltransferase family and encodes a protein with geranylgeranyl diphosphate (GGPP) synthase activity. This enzyme catalyzes the synthesis of GGPP from farnesyl diphosphate and isopentenyl diphosphate. GGPP is an essential molecule for C20-prenylation of proteins and regulation of nuclear hormone receptors. Alternate transcriptional splice variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
