Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
ATF7 plays important roles in early cell signaling. It binds the cAMP response element (CRE) sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters, and acts as an activator of the NF-ELAM1/delta-A site of the E-selectin promoter. Although ATF7 has no intrinsic transcriptional activity, it activates transcription upon forming heterodimers with JUN or FOS. It can also bind TRE promoter sequences when heterodimerized with JUN family members. Isoforms 4 and 5 act as repressors or negative regulators of transcriptional activity, potentially by sequestering Thr-53 phosphorylating kinase in the cytoplasm, preventing activation.
