Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

cAMP is a signaling molecule crucial for various cellular functions. It activates cAMP-dependent protein kinase, which phosphorylates target proteins. The inactive kinase holoenzyme consists of two regulatory and two catalytic subunits. Upon cAMP binding, the holoenzyme dissociates into regulatory dimers and free catalytic monomers.
This gene encodes one of the regulatory subunits involved in this process. It acts as a tissue-specific extinguisher down-regulating liver gene expression in hepatoma × fibroblast hybrids. Mutations in this gene cause Carney complex (CNC). It can fuse with the RET protooncogene to form the thyroid tumor-specific chimeric oncogene PTC2.
A nonconventional nuclear localization sequence (NLS) suggests a role in DNA replication by serving as a nuclear transport protein for the second subunit of Replication Factor C (RFC40). Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed.
