Target Information
Androgen-induced 1 (AIG1) is a novel Pirh2-interacting protein, initially cloned from human dermal papilla cells and evolutionarily conserved from Drosophila to humans. It is a membrane protein belonging to the FAR-17a domain-containing family. AIG1 may play a role in androgen-regulated hair follicle growth and could serve as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It may also be a novel candidate tumor suppressor.
