Description:
The 2E8B11 monoclonal antibody recognizes human Rab5a, a GTPase involved in intracellular membrane trafficking. Rab5a is ubiquitously expressed in human cells.

Target Information

RAB5 proteins are small GTPases that regulate intracellular membrane trafficking, including vesicle formation and membrane fusion. They alternate between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound states, recruiting effectors responsible for vesicle movement, tethering, and fusion.
RAB5A is essential for plasma membrane and early endosome fusion and contributes to filopodia extension. It is also required for exosomal release of SDCBP, CD63, PDCD6IP, and syndecan, and plays a role in the maturation of apoptotic cell-containing phagosomes.
