The eBio17CK15A5 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A.
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.

Human IL-17A exists as glycosylated 20–30 kDa homodimers and stimulates epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
Mouse, rat, and human IL-17A can induce IL-6 secretion in mouse stromal cells, indicating receptor cross-reactivity among species.

IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing CD4+ T cells (Th-17 cells) represent a distinct subset of Th cells, negatively regulated by Th1 and Th2 cytokines (IFN-γ, IL-4).

Applications Reported: Useful for mouse IL-17A ELISA and ELISPOT capture.
Applications Tested: Suitable for sandwich ELISA as capture antibody (1.0–4.0 µg/mL) using biotinylated eBio17B7 (13-7177) for detection and recombinant mouse IL-17A (14-8171) as standard.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of 136 amino acids. It belongs to a six-member family (IL-17A–F) and signals through IL-17R (CDw217).

IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulates secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
It regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, promotes COX-2 and nitric oxide production, and supports hematopoietic progenitor proliferation and neutrophil maturation.
