Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B) is encoded by the MAP1LC3B gene in humans.
LC3B is associated with microtubule assembly and plays an important role in neurogenesis and autophagy.
It participates in macroautophagy, the major pathway for cytoplasmic component turnover, especially under nutrient starvation.
LC3B mediates interactions between microtubules and cytoskeletal components and is implicated in cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases.
