- This antibody has 92% homology with mouse, 91% with bovine, and 84% with xenopus.
- Reacts weaker with mouse than with human samples.
Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B) in humans is encoded by the MAP1LC3B gene. LC3B is associated with microtubule assembly and plays an important role in neurogenesis.
Studies indicate LC3B is vital in autophagy, a process responsible for degradation of cytoplasmic components.
Three human LC3 isoforms undergo post-translational modifications during autophagy.
Macroautophagy is the major inducible pathway for turnover of cytoplasmic constituents and degradation of enzymes and organelles during nutrient starvation.
LC3B mediates interactions between microtubules and cytoskeletal components and may be involved in cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases.
