Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Target Information
VLR-1 (also known as TRPV2) is a calcium-permeable, non-selective cation channel with outward rectification, regulated by growth factors such as IGF1, PDGF, and morphogenetic neuropeptides. It does not respond to capsaicin, acid, or moderate heat but is activated by high temperatures (~52°C). Within sensory ganglia, VRL-1 is expressed in medium- to large-diameter neurons, suggesting a role in high-threshold heat response transduction. Its expression beyond sensory tissues indicates possible activation by other stimuli. VRL-1 is one of six members of the vanilloid-like TRP-channel family, now known as the TRPV family.
