Product Specific Information

  • Antibody is tested in direct ELISA.
  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Fibronectin is a disulfide-bonded dimer (230–250 kDa) found in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues and vessels. It exists as an insoluble, cross-linked protein forming high molecular mass polymers.
Fibronectin plays key roles in:

  • Embryonic development and tissue remodeling
  • Cell adhesion and migration
  • Wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis

Fibronectin expression increases in non-small cell lung carcinoma, enhancing tumorigenicity and resistance to apoptosis. The fibronectin gene undergoes alternative splicing, potentially producing up to 20 transcript variants.
