Target Information

Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring mycotoxin produced by molds Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. These molds commonly occur in soil, decaying vegetation, hay, and grains under high moisture and temperature conditions.
At least 13 types of aflatoxin exist, with Aflatoxin B1 being the most toxic. The presence of Aspergillus flavus indicates potential aflatoxin production, especially under stress conditions such as drought.
