Product Specific Information
- In Western Blot, recognizes a band at ~98 kDa and may also detect one at ~80 kDa (beta form).
- Antigen retrieval (EDTA buffer, microwave) is recommended before IHC on paraffin tissues.
- Does not immunoprecipitate.
- For IHC and ICC/IF, a dilution of 1:200 is recommended with tyramide amplification; demonstrates nuclear staining.
- Suggested positive control: P3X (murine plasmocytoma) cell lysates.
Target Information
Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear transcriptional repressor containing five zinc fingers in its C-terminus. It is essential for terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages and is expressed in terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinal neurons, and other lineages. Blimp-1 also represses beta-interferon (IFN-β) and c-myc gene expression.
