Target Information
Caspase-14은 cysteine-aspartic acid protease(caspase) 계열의 단백질을 암호화하며, 세포 사멸의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Caspases는 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하다가 절단을 통해 활성화되며, 두 서브유닛(대형 및 소형)이 이합체를 형성하여 활성 효소가 됩니다.
Caspase-14는 in vitro에서 caspase-8 및 caspase-10에 의해, in vivo에서는 anti-Fas agonist antibody 또는 TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand에 의해 활성화되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질의 발현 및 처리 과정은 각질형성세포의 최종 분화에 관여하며, 피부 장벽 형성에 중요합니다.
CASP14 관련 질환으로는 Ichthyosis, Congenital, Autosomal Recessive 12 및 Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis가 있습니다.
