Cytokeratin은 분자량 40–68 kDa, 등전점 pH 4.9–7.8 범위를 가지며, 상피의 종류와 분화 정도에 따라 발현 패턴이 달라집니다.
이러한 발현 양상은 상피성 악성종양의 구분 및 진단에 유용하며, 세포병리학 및 유세포 분석에서도 활용됩니다.
