E2F2는 E2F 전사 인자 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 세포 주기 조절 및 종양 억제 단백질의 작용에 중요한 역할을 합니다. E2F 패밀리 단백질은 DNA 결합 도메인, DP 단백질과 상호작용을 결정하는 이합체화 도메인, 산성 아미노산이 풍부한 전사활성 도메인, 종양 억제 단백질 결합 도메인 등을 포함합니다. E2F2는 E2F1, E2F3과 함께 사이클린 결합 도메인을 추가로 가지며, 세포 주기 의존적으로 pRB 단백질과 결합합니다. 전체적으로 E2F1과 약 46%의 아미노산 서열 동일성을 보입니다.
