Target Information
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)는 EGF Receptor(170 kDa protein kinase)에 결합하여 작용을 나타냅니다. EGFR이 활성화되면 다양한 세포 내 신호 전달 경로가 유도되며, EGF 결합 시 EGFR은 동종 또는 이종 이합체를 형성합니다. 각 이합체는 서로 다른 SH2 도메인 단백질을 모집하여 고유한 신호 경로를 시작합니다.
EGF는 신장, 뇌, 전립선, 침샘 등에서 널리 발현되며, 강력한 세포 증식 인자로 작용합니다. 인산화된 수용체는 GRB2 등의 어댑터 단백질을 모집하여 RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, STAT 등의 주요 신호 경로를 활성화합니다. 또한 NF-κB 신호 경로 활성화에도 관여할 수 있습니다.
EGF 유전자 결함은 저마그네슘혈증(type 4)을 유발하며, 특정 암의 성장 및 진행과도 관련이 있습니다.
