Product Specific Information
This antibody was cross-adsorbed to a phospho-tyrosine peptide then affinity purified with phospho-PTP1B (Tyr-152) peptide. The purified antibody detects a 50 kDa band corresponding to PTP1B in western blots of pervanadate-treated human A431 and Jurkat, as well as mouse SYF cells. This reactivity is not observed in control cells or after alkaline phosphatase treatment of blots.
Target Information
PTP1B (PTPN1) is a tyrosine-protein phosphatase that acts as a regulator of the endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response. It mediates dephosphorylation of EIF2AK3/PERK, inactivating its protein kinase activity. PTP1B also plays roles in CKII- and p60c-src-induced signal transduction cascades, regulates the EFNA5-EPHA3 signaling pathway affecting cell reorganization and cell-cell repulsion, and modulates hepatocyte growth factor receptor signaling via MET dephosphorylation.
