Product Specific Information
The antibody detects a 50 kDa* doublet corresponding to PTP1B in western blots of calyculin A treated human A431 and Jurkat cells. This reactivity is observed as a weak singlet in control cells and is not observed after lambda phosphatase treatment.
Target Information
PTP1B (PTPN1) is a tyrosine-protein phosphatase that acts as a regulator of endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response. It mediates dephosphorylation of EIF2AK3/PERK and inactivates its kinase activity. PTP1B also participates in CKII- and p60c-src-induced signal transduction cascades, regulates EFNA5-EPHA3 signaling for cell reorganization and repulsion, and modulates hepatocyte growth factor receptor signaling through MET dephosphorylation.
