Target Information
Dynamins are a subfamily of GTP-binding proteins sharing sequence similarity in the N-terminal GTPase domain. They associate with microtubules and are involved in cellular processes such as endocytosis, cell motility, and membrane remodeling (e.g., osteoclast bone resorption).
Dynamins interact with actin-binding and cytoskeletal proteins and can self-assemble to enhance GTPase activity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different proteins have been described.
