Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Nearly all mucosal surfaces are protected by mucin transmembrane glycoproteins, from bronchioles to corneas to reproductive tracts. Mucin 4 (MUC4) is membrane-bound and plays an important role in protection and lubrication.
MUC4 expression is abnormal in many carcinomas and sarcomas, including fibromyoxoid sarcoma and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Immunohistochemical staining for MUC4 has been discussed as a potential biomarker for detecting these cancers.
MUC4 dysfunction is also associated with certain Asian-specific diseases such as Taiwanese infertility, endometriosis, and gallstone formation in Chinese men.
Because MUC4 is critical for mucosal surface protection, its failure is often implicated in metastatic cancer invasions.
