이 단백질의 변이는 파킨슨병과 관련이 있으며, 세포질에 주로 존재하지만 미토콘드리아 외막과도 결합합니다.
LRRK2는 leucine-rich repeat kinase family에 속하며, ankyrin 반복 영역, LRR 도메인, 키나아제 도메인, DFG-like 모티프, RAS 도메인, GTPase 도메인, MLK-like 도메인, WD40 도메인을 포함합니다.
