Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the neurotrophic factor family, neurotrophins, which control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. The expression of this gene is ubiquitous and less influenced by environmental signals. While knock-outs of other neurotrophins including nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and neurotrophin 3 are lethal during early postnatal development, NTF5-deficient mice show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.
