Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water for a concentration of 1 mg/mL.
Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability.

Target Information

This gene belongs to the neurotrophic factor family (neurotrophins) that control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons.
Its expression is ubiquitous and less influenced by environmental signals.
Knock-outs of other neurotrophins (nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, neurotrophin 3) are lethal during early postnatal development, whereas NTF5-deficient mice show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.
