This antibody binds specifically to human 4-1BB, which is expressed on the surface of activated T cells.
Target Information
CD137 (also known as TNFRSF9 or 4-1BB) is an inducible costimulatory molecule mainly expressed on activated T cells. Its ligand, 4-1BBL, is found on activated macrophages, mature B cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and myeloid progenitor cells.
CD137 signaling supports the survival and expansion of activated and memory CD8+ T cells while modulating myelopoiesis and dendritic cell development. Triggered CD137 induces cytokine release that regulates peripheral monocyte survival. Soluble CD137 may act as a negative feedback regulator in immune responses.
