Product Specific Information
- PA1-775 detects Rab11 from human and non-human primate samples.
- Detects both A and B isoforms.
- By Western blot, detects a ~22 kDa Rab11 protein in CV1, PC3, and HeLa cell extracts; a minor ~35 kDa band may also appear.
- Immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 1–17 of human Rab11, conserved in human, mouse, and rat; 94% conserved in C. elegans and amphibians.
- Peptide (Cat. # PEP-195) available for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
Rab proteins are low-molecular-weight GTP-binding proteins forming the largest branch of the Ras superfamily. They are located on the cytoplasmic face of organelles and vesicles and play key roles in intracellular membrane fusion reactions.
Rab proteins coordinate with SNAP-25, synaptobrevin, syntaxin, NSF, and α-SNAP in vesicle docking and fusion.
Over 40 Rab proteins have been identified in mammals. Rab11 is a marker for protein trafficking, sorting, and recycling in the endosomal pathway.
