The monoclonal antibody 135.4 recognizes ILT1 (CD85h, LIR7, LILRA2), a member of the ILT/LIR/MIR receptor family.
ILT1 has a short cytoplasmic domain that associates with the Fc receptor gamma chain, producing a stimulatory signal.
ILT1 may act as a receptor for MHC Class I antigens and is mainly expressed on monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and weakly on granulocytes.
It plays a role in TH1/Th2 balance and TLR signaling.
Crosslinking of this antibody can induce calcium influx.

Target Information

Leukocyte Ig-like receptors (LIRs) are immunoreceptors expressed predominantly on monocytes and B cells, and at lower levels on dendritic cells and NK cells.
Subfamily B members (e.g., LILRB1) have inhibitory functions, while subfamily A members (e.g., LILRA3) with short cytoplasmic domains and charged transmembrane regions may initiate stimulatory cascades.
LILRA3 lacks a transmembrane region and is presumed to be soluble.
