Product Specific Information

The eBio17B7 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A without cross-reactivity to IL-17F. IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection. It exists as glycosylated 20–30 kD homodimers and enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts while stimulating epithelial and endothelial cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.

Applications Reported: Useful for intracellular staining in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Validated by intracellular staining of restimulated, Th17-polarized mouse splenocytes using the Intracellular Fixation and Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product #88-8824-00). Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Staining Compatibility: Works with Foxp3 buffer system (Product #00-5523-00).
Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 578 nm; compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of 136 amino acids. It promotes inflammatory responses and signals through IL-17R/CDw217. IL-17A induces IL-6 secretion and regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, enhancing COX-2 and nitric oxide production. It plays a key role in autoimmune and inflammatory disease mechanisms.
