Product Specific Information
The eBio64CAP17 antibody reacts with human IL-17A and cross-reacts with rhesus monkey IL-17A, verified by intracellular staining. It is a neutralizing antibody with no reactivity to human IL-17F. Reactivity to other IL-17 family members has not been evaluated.
IL-17A (Interleukin-17A) is a CD4⁺ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection. It exists as a glycosylated 20–30 kDa homodimer produced by activated peripheral blood CD4⁺ T cells. IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and induces IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE₂ secretion in epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblastic cells.
Th17 cells, a subset of CD4⁺ T cells, produce IL-17A under IL-23-dependent conditions. IL-17A, IL-17F, and IL-17A/F heterodimers differ in potency for GRO-α secretion, with IL-17A being the most potent.
The eBio64CAP17 antibody can detect IL-17 heterodimers by immunoprecipitation followed by immunoblotting with anti-IL17F monoclonal antibody H17F10A7. It has been shown to react with rhesus and marmoset primates.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated for flow cytometry at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. One test corresponds to staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test, empirically determined).

Target Information
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer (136 amino acids) that signals through IL-17R (CDw217). It regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances NO production. IL-17A supports proliferation of CD34⁺ hematopoietic progenitors and induces neutrophil maturation.
