Product Specific Information
- In Western blot applications, this antibody detects a band at approximately 45 kDa.
- A suggested positive control is K562 cell lysate.
- PA5-20031 can be used with blocking peptide PEP-0150.
Target Information
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and developmental processes. Cell death signals are transduced by molecules containing death domain (DD), death effector domain (DED), and caspase recruitment domain (CARD). CARD-containing proteins include caspases, Apaf-1, CARD4, IAPs, RICK, ARC, RAIDD, BCL-10, and ASC.
CARD8 is a novel CARD-containing protein that interacts with DRAL, a p53-responsive protein involved in apoptosis induction, as well as with caspase-1 and its related proteins ICEBERG and pseudo-ICE. Although reports differ on whether CARD8 acts as a pro- or anti-apoptotic protein, it is suggested to function as an adaptor molecule regulating caspase-1 and NF-kappa-B activation.
