Target Information
IL-1 receptor associated kinases (IRAKs) are serine/threonine kinases involved in signaling via Toll/IL-1 pathways. IRAK1 is recruited by MYD88 to the receptor-signaling complex upon TLR activation. Its association with MYD88 leads to phosphorylation by IRAK4, followed by autophosphorylation and activation. IRAK1 can also phosphorylate TIRAP, promoting ubiquitination and degradation. Additionally, IRAK1 phosphorylates interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF7), inducing its activation and nuclear translocation, which results in transcriptional activation of type I IFN genes, driving antiviral responses.
