Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Both MIP-1α and MIP-1β are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines. They participate in host responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells such as macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells.

While both MIP-1α and MIP-1β exert similar effects on monocytes, their effects on lymphocytes differ:

• MIP-1α: selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes
• MIP-1β: selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes

Additionally, both are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells. Both human and murine MIP-1α and MIP-1β are active on human and murine hematopoietic cells.
