Product Specific Information
The TRA-1-60 antibody recognizes a protein expressed on undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells (ES), embryonal carcinoma cells (EC), and embryonic germ cells (EG). The epitope recognized by TRA-1-60 is lost upon cell differentiation.
TRA-1-60 specifically binds to a carbohydrate epitope on a keratan-sulfated glycoprotein identified as Podocalyxin, a CD34-related sialomucin. Podocalyxin is a transmembrane glycoprotein found on podocytes and is implicated in cancer aggressiveness including breast and prostate cancers.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on human embryonal carcinoma line 2102Ep at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Compatible Lasers: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Target Information
TRA-1-60 is a cell surface antigen co-expressed with SSEA-3, SSEA-4, and TRA-1-81 in human embryonic stem cells, embryonal carcinoma cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS). These markers are lost during differentiation, while SSEA-1 appears after retinoic acid-induced differentiation.
