Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Caspases are cysteine proteases that mediate programmed cell death (apoptosis). The precursor form of all caspases includes a prodomain and large/small catalytic subunits. Active forms are generated by stimuli such as ligand-receptor interactions, growth factor deprivation, and inhibitors of cellular functions.
Caspase-3 (also known as Yama, CPP32, apopain) encodes a 32-kDa protein that cleaves PARP into an 85-kDa fragment during apoptosis, inhibited by CrmA protein. Other substrates include DNA-PK, actin, GAS2, and procaspase-6. Activation occurs by cleavage at Asp-28/Ser-29 and Asp-175/Ser-176, generating 17-kDa and 12-kDa subunits.
