Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays a crucial role in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and in adult processes such as wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
Dysregulation of MET has been associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast cancers, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
