MA1-10829 detects Factor XII light chain from human samples.
It has been successfully used in ELISA applications.
The immunogen is purified human Factor XII.
Target Information
This gene encodes coagulation factor XII, which circulates in blood as a zymogen. Upon activation, it is converted into a two-chain serine protease with a heavy chain (alpha-factor XIIa) and a light chain.
The heavy chain contains fibronectin-type domains, EGF-like domains, a kringle domain, and a proline-rich domain, while the light chain contains a catalytic domain.
Factor XII participates in blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, and the generation of bradykinin and angiotensin.
Defects in this gene prolong whole-blood clotting time but do not cause clinical symptoms.
