Product Specific Information
This LC4 monoclonal antibody recognizes the human T cell receptor (TCR) Vβ5.1 allele.
TCR specificity is determined by Valpha, Jalpha, Vbeta, Dbeta, and Jbeta gene rearrangement.
Vβ expression has been studied in relation to superantigens, inflammation, autoimmune disease, and HIV infection.
It is also used to phenotype T cell clonality in CD3+/TCRαβ+ large granular lymphocyte leukemias.
This receptor is expressed on a subset of peripheral blood T cells and belongs to the Ig superfamily.
This monoclonal antibody has been reported to induce apoptosis and calcium flux.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Increased αβ DN T cells have been observed in autoimmune and immunodeficiency disorders.
γδ T cells, found mainly in epithelial tissues, exhibit limited TCR diversity and show antitumor and immunoregulatory activity.
