Cullin 2 (CUL2)는 여러 cullin-RING 기반 ECS (ElonginB/C-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 유비퀴틴-단백질 리가아제 복합체의 핵심 구성요소로, 표적 단백질의 유비퀴틴화를 매개합니다. ECS 복합체와 ARIH1은 협력하여 유비퀴틴화를 수행하며, CUL2는 복합체 내에서 강체 스캐폴드로 작용합니다. E3 유비퀴틴-단백질 리가아제 활성은 cullin의 neddylation에 의존하며, TIP120A/CAND1과의 결합에 의해 억제됩니다. ECS(VHL) 복합체는 저산소 유도 인자(HIF)의 유비퀴틴화를 매개합니다.
