Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65)는 인간의 11번 염색체에 위치한 RELA 유전자에 의해 발현됩니다. NF-kB p65는 RelA(v-rel avian reticuloendotheliosis viral oncogene homolog A)로도 알려져 있으며, Rel 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다.
NF-kB는 p50 또는 p52와 이합체를 형성하며, TNF-α에 의해 활성화되어 IKK를 인산화시키고, IκB의 분해를 유도합니다. 이 과정은 성숙한 B-림프구에서 면역글로불린 κ 유전자의 전사 조절에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다.
