Target Information
Members in the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand), also known as TALL2 or TRDL1a, is a novel member of this family identified in human and mouse. It has two known receptors, TACI and BCMA. APRIL stimulates B and T cell proliferation, triggers humoral immune responses, activates NF-κB, and induces cell death. It plays roles in autoimmune diseases and cancer through interactions with BlyS, BCMA, and TACI.
