Target Information
Beta-2-microglobulin (B2M)는 MHC class I 복합체의 서브유닛으로, 분자량 12–14 kDa의 단백질입니다. HLA Class I 항원과 결합된 형태로 림프구, 흉선세포, 단핵구, 과립구, 혈소판, 내피세포, 상피세포 등 다양한 세포에서 발현되며, 적혈구에서는 발현되지 않습니다.
B2M은 혈장 내 자유형으로도 존재하며, 아미노산 서열은 immunoglobulin의 constant region과 유사하여 주로 β-pleated sheet 구조를 가집니다.
이 단백질은 항원 처리 및 제시에 관여하며, TCR 신호전달 및 naive CD8+ 세포의 하위 신호경로에도 역할을 합니다.
B2M 유전자는 15번 염색체에 위치하며, 해당 유전자 변이는 hypercatabolic hypoproteinemia를 유발할 수 있습니다.
Beta-2-microglobulin 수준은 신장 기능 평가 및 HIV 감염 예후 지표로 활용될 수 있습니다.
