Target Information

CD137 (TNFRSF9, 4-1BB) is an inducible costimulatory molecule primarily expressed on activated T cells. Its ligand, 4-1BBL, is found on activated macrophages, mature B cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and myeloid progenitor cells.
CD137 signaling supports the survival and expansion of activated and CD8+ memory T cells while regulating myelopoiesis and dendritic cell development. Activation of CD137 induces cytokine release that modulates peripheral monocyte survival. Soluble CD137 forms may act as negative regulators of certain immune responses.
