Target Information

Nuclear factor κB p65 (NF-κB p65), encoded by the RELA gene on human chromosome 11, is also known as RelA (v-rel avian reticuloendotheliosis viral oncogene homolog A). It belongs to the Rel protein family and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-κB. TNF-α binding to its receptor activates IKK, leading to IκB phosphorylation and degradation, thereby releasing NF-κB for transcriptional activation. NF-κB p65 plays a key role in regulating the transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
