Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody HP-F1 recognizes CD85j (ILT2, LILRB1, LIR1), a member of the ILT/LIR/MIR receptor family.
CD85j is a transmembrane glycoprotein with four ITIMs that signal through SHP-1 interactions.
Expression is found on myeloid cells (monocytes and dendritic cells) and subsets of NK, T, and B cells.
It correlates with leukemias (ALL, CLL) and viral infections (HIV, EBV, CMV).
Ligands include MHC Class I molecules (HLA-G, A, F, B27, E, F).
HP-F1 antibody reduces CD16-dependent cytolytic activity of NK cells.

Target Information

The CD85j gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family located at chromosome 19q13.4.
It encodes a receptor with 2–4 extracellular Ig domains, a transmembrane region, and ITIM motifs.
Expressed on immune cells, it binds MHC class I molecules and transduces inhibitory signals to regulate immune response, inflammation, and autoreactivity.
Multiple transcript variants exist for this gene.
