Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of KIF5B only when phosphorylated at Ser154.
Target Information
Kinesin 5B is a microtubule-dependent motor protein required for the normal distribution of mitochondria and lysosomes. It can induce the formation of neurite-like membrane protrusions in non-neuronal cells in a ZFYVE27-dependent manner. It regulates centrosome and nuclear positioning during mitotic entry, antagonizing dynein function and driving the separation of nuclei and centrosomes in a BICD2-dependent manner during the G2 phase. It is also required for anterograde axonal transportation of MAPK8IP3/JIP3, which is essential for axon elongation.
