Antibody detects endogenous levels of total NEK2.
Target Information
NEK2 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in cell cycle regulation and essential for faithful chromosome segregation. It is primarily located in the centrosome and plays a crucial role in mitosis regulation. During the G1 phase, NEK2 is undetectable, but its levels progressively increase throughout the S phase, peaking in late G2 phase. The gene has several alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms with distinct C-termini. NEK2 is associated with diseases such as Retinitis Pigmentosa 67 and Retinitis Pigmentosa.
