Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The SMAD1 protein belongs to the SMAD family, homologous to the Drosophila gene mothers against decapentaplegic (Mad) and the C. elegans gene Sma.
SMAD proteins function as signal transducers and transcriptional modulators mediating multiple signaling pathways.
SMAD1 mediates BMP (bone morphogenetic protein) signaling involved in cell growth, apoptosis, morphogenesis, development, and immune responses.
Upon BMP ligand stimulation, SMAD1 is phosphorylated and forms a complex with SMAD4, regulating transcription.
It is targeted by SMAD-specific E3 ubiquitin ligases such as SMURF1 and SMURF2 for ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed.
