Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다. 이 효소는 intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 형태가 있으며, 그 중 PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막결합형 isoenzyme(Regan 및 Nagao type)입니다.
PLAP는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 epithelial membrane antigen(EMA)을 균일하게 발현합니다.
PLAP의 제안된 기능은 기질 광물화(matrix mineralization)이며, 기능적 효소가 결여된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달을 보입니다.
또한 PLAP는 고인산혈증(hypophosphatasia)과 직접적으로 관련되어 있으며, 이는 고칼슘혈증 및 골격 결함을 특징으로 합니다. 이 질환의 발현 시기와 증상의 정도는 돌연변이 유형에 따라 달라집니다.
