Product Specific Information

The TS2/16 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD29 (integrin beta 1), an approximately 130 kDa single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein. CD29 forms heterodimers with nine integrin alpha subunits to create the very late antigen (VLA) family of adhesion molecules involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion. CD29 is broadly expressed on lymphocytes and monocytes, with lower expression on granulocytes. The TS2/16 antibody exhibits activating activity for beta 1 integrins.

• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for NovaFluor applications.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
• Add 5 µL of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer per sample before combining with cells.
• For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

ITGB1 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types, including leukocytes and platelets. It forms non-covalent heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), defining the binding properties of VLA integrins. ITGB1 mediates cell adhesion and signaling, contributing to immune cell trafficking, tissue damage regulation, and inflammatory responses. Decreased ITGB1 expression is associated with tumor multidrug resistance. Two major isoforms, β1A and β1D, show tissue-specific distribution, with β1A present in most tissues and β1D in cardiac and skeletal muscle.
