Product Specific Information
The TS2/16 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 130 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein. CD29 forms heterodimers with integrin alpha subunits to create VLA adhesion molecules involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. It is expressed broadly on lymphocytes and monocytes, with lower levels on granulocytes. TS2/16 exhibits activating activity for beta 1 integrins.
Each product includes:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells; use 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for compatibility.
- Use CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.

Target Information
ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29)
A 110 kDa surface glycoprotein expressed on various cell types including leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6) to define VLA integrins. Plays a role in:
- Cell adhesion and migration
- Immune cell trafficking
- Tumor cell drug resistance
- Inflammatory response regulation
Two major isoforms exist: β1A (ubiquitous except cardiac/skeletal muscle) and β1D (muscle-specific).
